    • The self styled anti guru Sarah Knight adds another volume to her quirky, profanity laden self help series with You Do You.The focus, as you can guess from the title, is the art of allowing your authentic self to shine through without feeling guilt or being so far out of the social norms that you border on psychopath You Do You is about accepting your strengths and your flaws, whether those flaws are self identified, or just things that you re perfectly happy about but that other people seem to [...]

    • As always, Sarah Knight gives realistic advice with a grand sense of fucking humor I always walk away from reading her books with my head held a little higher my middle finger ready to extend to those who don t like the choices I make to improve me Thanks to Little Brown Sarah for this early copy

    • As far as self improvement books go, this is one of my favorites It s funny, simple, to the point, with great advice on how to do what makes you happy and why it s ok to put yourself first and stop caring about what other people think I especially related to the rant about people who tell you to smile, may they stub their toes every morning.

    • Eh this felt to me like a long winded stand up comedy routine that continually referenced points made in her two previous books but in between all that she did make some insightful points about letting your freak flag fly

    • I typically like reading a motivational self help book in January I just found this soooo basic There was absolutely nothing new that the title of the cover doesn t cover Very mehhhhhhh.

    • This book definitely deserves a 4 If 2018 is your year of AUTHENTICITY AND SELF ACCEPTANCE, this is the book to read Without a doubt, Sarah Knight authentically shares the best life lessons of you being yourself This anti guru talks of various social norms that made most people live in their cocon shelf instead of being the butterfly one is meant to be And my oh my, Sarah goes against all norms of normal book writing The foul words that were thrown out of the blues Reason for a one less is becau [...]

    • I ve just finished reading You Do You Sarah s third book and LOVED it as much as the others It was just the reminder I needed and was such a true reflection of today s society and the reality of the judgements we face every day This book even got me singing when I stopped at traffic lights something I would usually feel embarrassed about doing

    • I did enjoy this book but essentially it is full of very bad advice that I want to take, especially around Christmas and baby shower season Haha I could write this exact same book myself if I too could pack up my entire life and move to the Dominican Republic Pretty easy to get out of all the social commitments and pressures when you are that far away from everyone No sooner had I finished a chapter on how to be selfish did I read a chapter on how important it is not to be selfish in the book h [...]

    • FANTASTIC Constantly on a quest to being the most authentic and best version of myself The author really gets it and is SUPER FUNNY

    • I m a big fan of Sarah Knight s books Well, I m actually just a big fan of Sarah Knight I love her TED talk, her tweets, her writing style, her sense of humor, and her newsletters So when I saw that she had a new book coming out, I could not WAIT to read it And when Netgalley sent me a copy to review, I practically jumped out of my skin, I was so excited HUGE GIGANTIC thank you s to Netgalley and Little, Brown and Company for sending me a copyd making this fan girl s day.I ll try to mop up my dr [...]

    • I received a copy of this book from Little Brown and Company for review Part Return of the Jedi , part Return of the King , this book nicely rounds out her No Fucks Given trilogy in a way that fans will truly appreciate.Once again, I finished Sarah Knight s book wishing that I actually knew her in real life because she seems like my quintessential spirit animal polar opposite in the best ways possible She says and does things that I wish I had the courage to while also feeling like she would be [...]

    • Sarah Knight is known for her no nonsense anti guru books and while this is the first one by her hand I ve picked up it most certainly won t be the last I loved her blunt writing style in which she gets to the point of what she s trying to convey without holding back at all Her words are inspiring and the message is clear, giving me a much needed kick up the butt to make some changes in my own life to become happy with who I am and where I want to be And rounded out with hilarious anecdotes fro [...]

    • 3.5 stars this book was a good read I liked most of the advice in this book Sometime I found the humour miss placed and I didn t find some parts particularly helpful I still would recommend this book to read.

    • There were quite a bit too many plugs for her other books in this one for my taste but Life changing Magic of Not Giving a Fuck was 99 cents so I mma still read it.

    • I listened to this because I was too tired to read since I was sick all week and therefore I might have missed the point.I don t think I need a you do you lesson, because I ve never really had a problem with being my own person I m a bookworm, who loves electro swing, will literally wear my fandom on my sleeve and have no problem doing my own thing.Or saying what I want Which might be the lesson I need be you, but don t be so mean about it.

    • 2.5 stars This book had some good points of discussion, but I personally dislike any person who purposefully goes out of their way to show how zany and crazy they are Yeah, it s great to be weird I believe in embracing your weird but this seems pretty attention seeking.

    • I really enjoyed this book As an introvert, this touched on so many issues situations I ve found myself in It was spot on I found myself saying Yes, that s me Highly recommend.

    • Once again, Sarah knocks it out of the park with reminding us that the stuff we think we have to do in life because other people say so, because we assume so without questioning it just isn t the case She breaks down how to look at where you ve gotten stuck in that rut, and start breaking out on your own terms And, of course, she does it in refreshingly honest ways and reminds us that she s been there.

    • I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review What an entertaining book Sarah Knight does a great job of weaving humor into very good life advice There is a bit of language, so sorry if you don t like that A bit of advice read the footnotes They re hilarious And the YouTube link to her TEDx talk Take the time to watch it.

    • I didn t like this book at all I felt like it was written by someone who forgot to mature when they became an adult Too shallow, no substance, and part of the problem This book makes people think the world revolves around them and what the do and say doesn t matter at all Two many attempts to be funny when they were not and too many plugs for other books which I won t be reading Two thumbs down

    • 2.5 starsI didn t realize there was an order for Sarah Knight s three books, so I read the third one first Sarah Knight seems like a normal person, who used her personal life experiences to create some fancy terms such as anti guru to give advice to readers There isn t anything super great or life changing in this book at least for me , and I didn t love the format.I read The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck before this book even though Sarah Knight came up with the not giving a fuck self help bo [...]

    • Was at the library and saw this on the shelf and picked it up in honor of an ex co worker Dave LaMar , whose catch phrases included Do What You Do and You Do You and figured what the hell, why not give this a shotApparently this is book 3 of a series of self help books with 3 out so far And typically, as goes with this type of thing the title of the book and subtitle is about as much as you need to know, and the book just takes that one line and runs it through 300 pages Simple premise, stretche [...]

    • I ve always loved a self help book The first one I remember vividly wasStephen Pressfield sThe War of Art which I read as a teenager and continue to refer to now that I m staunchly in the middle of my enduring late 20 s existential crisis fun Over the years, I ve read books that range in utility from pep talk to concrete action plan to get your life in order A few of them likeThe War of Art have actually upended some self limiting beliefs I ve clung to out of creative fear.I d place You Do You s [...]

    • Best for Anyone looking for an entertaining read that also might help you embrace your unconventional life choices. In a nutshell Author Sarah Knight who has written two other sort of self help books offers some updates to the social contract to help people get out of life with a little less worry.Worth quoting The friends who don t judge you for choosing what s best for you are the ones you ll want to keep closer than anyone You re not unsuccessful if you never dialed up a particular destinatio [...]

    • You do you. When I first started as a published author instead of a closet writer , I needed a lot of handholding With my first bad review, I d tearfully text one of my close friends that THEY DON T LIKE IT SO THEY DON T LIKE MEEEEEEEEE When someone said something mean to me, I d take it personally, as if I needed to change. All of that has slowly changed I ve learned that bad reviews are boons because they keep away peeps who think the same, and they often amusingly reflect the critic s own issue [...]

    • The past couple of months, I have been reading a bunch of poetry After a while, every book begins to sound exactly the same as the last I wanted to try something totally out of my comfort zone, so I picked up Sarah Knight s book I heard great things about her first two novels, so I wanted to see her style for myself After all, being in high school, many times people will want you to change who you are Being you can be tricky, so why not get some helpful tips This novel is about well, exactly wha [...]

    • I will freely admit that I m a little bit in love with Sarah Knight I have loved her previous books and they did, in fact, change my life I took myself off of committees, gave up on some friends who weren t really friends any, and just tried to stop giving a fuck about things that didn t matter and attempted to get my shit together on things that did matter But when I got a copy of You Do You I didn t think it was really for me I thought I was pretty comfortable with I am and I have mostly what [...]

    • Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book all thoughts and opinions are my own. This book is a terrific third book from Sarah Knight, and arguably could be considered a love letter TO YOURSELF I really loved this book, because I really love any sort of advice that centers around just genuinely being comfortable with you, exactly as you are, exactly how you want to be, without judgement This book serves up whole heaping piles of this being confident in letting your own perso [...]
