    • This is a light and entertaining quick read by Giovanna Fletcher Lizzie and Ian have been a couple for 10 years since university, and through the years Lizzie has obsessed about when Ian will propose She has almost given up that he ever will, only to find on a holiday to Dubai, that he finally bring out the ring However, to her horror, there is heartbreak when he comes out with the fact that he is just not able to propose and that he no longer wants to be with her A shell shocked Lizzie returns [...]

    • This was a really gentle and relaxing read that was exactly what I needed after a stressful day I didn t have to pay too much attention to it to grasp what was going on The plot that you need on the blurb takes up around of quarter of the story and the restwell, I guess we follow the recovery of Lizzie as she attempts to redefine herself outside of a relationship There s not a lot of conflict as things go infinitely well for her Honestly, not enough happened to interest me but I was too far into [...]

    • Well I have to say this is a bit of a departure from the normal Giovanna Fletcher writing style but one that I absolutely loved Lizzy has been with Ian since Uni and she has their whole lives planned out, even if it is only in her imagination When they go on a trip to Dubai Lizzy is convinced that this is it Instead she finds herself at the polar opposite of where she thought she would be and flies home a single woman This throws her and she returns to her Mum s house to lick her wounds and find [...]

    • I m sad to say that I really did not enjoy or get into this book I wanted to love it as I think that Giovanna herself is absolutely brill However, I got up to 20% and realised that I just wasn t enjoying it There was so much padding in the narrative, and unnecessary detail, that I just wanted to get on with the main plot points Still by 20% of the way through it felt like nothing had happened admittedly the breakup had happened but that was being dragged out something chronic and I wanted Given [...]

    • I really wanted to love this book, I love Giovanna s work but this book just wasn t for me For starters the story of a break up and subsequent life change was good, however, the long and labourious remainder of the book didn t seem to go anywhere just petered out Wish I d have waited for a price drop before reading.

    • Lizzie is on a dream holiday with her boyfriend and expecting him to propose in the most romantic way The book explores shattered dreams, family dynamics and rebuilding your whole life when the one you d hoped and dreamt about is cruelly snatched away Lizzie works to rediscover the girl she was before and that she is entitled to have her own thoughts and decisions on what happens.I loved the characters and the whole feeling around the family, even her nightmare sister.I always enjoy Giovanna Fle [...]

    • Some Kind of Wonderful is the latest book from Giovanna Fletcher and is genuinely fantastic.Lizzy and Ian have been a couple since their first day at university and have been together for a decade They re on a romantic holiday to Dubai and everyone assumes they re going to get engaged After all, it s been ten years There is a proposal but it s nothing like Lizzy expected and slowly, through the tears and heartbreak, she realises being Ian s other half for so long has caused her to miss out on op [...]

    • Book provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review Giovanna Fletcher is a great author and I couldn t wait to read Some Kind of Wonderful. The story follows Lizzie, who finally wants to get married to her boyfriend Ian They have been together for many years Her dreams a crushed though and after a holiday, she finds herself heartbroken and alone and back at her parent s house. It s also her chance though, a chance for a fresh start and of figuring out what she really wants It was fabul [...]

    • This is a book that has its heart in the right place and is a lovely comfort read when you are feeling a bit meh and need cheering up Lizzie is a great character I didn t warm to her at the start of the book, because she was so fixated on getting a ring on her finger that she lacked any depth or redeeming features However, as the book progressed and Lizzie dealt with the realisation that she was now on her own, she became a much endearing person and I found myself cheering her on as she made so [...]

    • I had high hopes for this book which is possibly why I feel so disappointed that I only found itok Let me start by saying I love Giovanna Fletcher, as a mum, a vlogger, and a writer Her previous books have enchanted me I love her warm writing style her romantic, dreamy plots and friendly characters Sadly, I felt that what I love about her books usually was missing from this novel I didn t like any of the characters in fact I found them quite crude and vapid for the most part and I didn t feel li [...]

    • Some Kind of Wonderful, Giovanna FletcherReview from Jeannie Zelos book reviewsGenre Women s fiction, RomanceI loved Billy and me, simply adored it Sharp dialogue, great characters and a drama filled, wonderful romance That was my first GF read, and then I read Your the one that I want and really didn t like it Still, that could just have been a bad choice for me so when I saw this I wanted to see if it recaptured for me the wonderful feeling of Billy and me Sadly it didn t I found this story dr [...]

    • I couldn t wait to read this book as it s been a while since her last chicklit book Well worth reading and fun throughout I would say it s not one of her best but still loved it and had great meaning It was an easy read and full of love and friendship and finding out who she is after heartbreak Lizzie and Ian have been going out for ages and she is desperate to get married and when they go on a romantic holiday she thinks her luck is in but once he asks her he realises it s not for him and they [...]

    • This was an enjoyable read, full of all kinds of rollercoaster emotions, both sad, and also some laugh out loud moments I didn t really like all the characters though, all a bit in your face especially Michelle Whilst the aspects of the plot after heartbreak are very real, for me, a lot of this book was pure fantasy How many actually have friends like Connie, or a cosy twee litte family, not to mention falling into a super duper job or going back packing for months on end AND finding another han [...]

    • One of them books that catches your interest from the very first few lines, I loved it, it was so easy to read and I loved that it wasn t your typical love story gone wrong, as Lizzy finds herself dumped when all she wanted was a proposal from her boyfriend of ten years It s not all about romance, her finding someone else or moping over her ex Ian, in fact she doesn t see him again for ages and only once This is about Lizzy trying to find her happy place, about trying to find out who she really [...]

    • All of Gi s books are like a lovely hug and gossip with a mate I must admit, protagonist Lizzy was super unlikeable at first, but as the book went on I really started to root for her Loved the whole cast a particular shout out for the realistic sisterly relationship between Lizzy and Michelle and a gentle, Christmassy vibe without being OTT.

    • 3 I haven t read any of this author s books before but have heard good things about her After books about gangsters and serial killers I was particularly looking forward to something a bit lighter. After 10 years with her boyfriend Lizzy is unexpectedly on her own She realises she no longer knows who she is so sets out to become the person she wants to be I read this book on and off in one day It didn t have my attention so much that I couldn t put it down but I did enjoy picking it up and readin [...]

    • This was an easy quick read, I thought the overall message of the book was great and I loved the feel good ending However I felt like nothing much happened in the first 60%, I loved the last 40% though and would have easily have given 5 stars if it would have been great the whole way through.Great book but not as good Fletchers others.

    • A great story about discovering yourself without the unneccesary baggage of a relationship.Loved it

    • Absolutely loved this book Captivated me from the start Lizzie is such a likeable and relatable character and the rest of the book is full of zesty characters who make the story a fun, compassionate and hilarious read Beautifully written and has a story that keeps you wanting to read I really hope Lizzie gets a sequel Thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish Thank you Giovanna Fletcher for a fabulous read

    • I received an advance copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review My review for this book is a little late because I ve been so busy with assignments and other stuff but this was a nice mellow read This book was about Lizzie and her journey trying to find herself when her life doesn t work out the way she expected it to This book had some fun moments and there was a lot of reference to the 80 s and 90 s era of music which was cute and funny There was some boring parts when I [...]

    • Some Kind Of Wonderful by Giovanna Fletcher a wonderful five star read This book was just what I needed, it s a cold wet and windy day in Wales, I was having a rubbishy day and this was the pick me up I needed It was like reading a lovely warm hug The characters were all people I would have enjoyed meeting and the situations believable, what I liked most was the fact that I didn t like everyone to begin with, much like in real life I warmed to Lizzy

    • Some Kind of Wonderful is the first book I ve read by Giovanna Fletcher, and I went in with high hopes from the start I was expecting a gentle and lighthearted read and nothing too serious but after a little while I realised that actually, I found it quite dull Having recently gone through a tough and totally unexpected breakup, the book follows lead character Lizzy in her recovery from the heartbreak as she attempts to redefine herself outside of a relationship.Firstly, Lizzy was a nice enough [...]

    • I only got half way through this book as I didn t feel I wanted to spend any of my time reading it It has an really upsetting beginning that made me doubt the book from the word go, and personally didn t feel it got any better I felt sad angry whilst reading and I don t like reading books that make me feel that way I was very disappointed as I was so excited to read this book, as I m a huge fan of Giovanna Fletchers Not her best in my opinion.

    • A very easy read, some lovely characters that are easy to get to know and love, a simple story that drags you in from the beginning, a really lovely read from a great author

    • This book instantly felt like a classic rom com as soon as I started reading it The strong female lead, the rubbish boy friend, the whole premise of the book screams everything that I love from my favourite genre of book and it delivered as well I loved the fact that we have a strong female lead in this book All of Giovanna s books have this in common but this one seemed a little different from her others so I was a little worried that the lead might be a little of a pushover but she is feisty [...]

    • In Some Kind of Wonderful we meet Lizzie, who s been with Ian for ages that is, since Uni, and the only thing that she misses is proposal and a wedding On a trip to Dubai Lizzie is convinced that Ian is finally going to propose however, as the popular saying goes, tell God about your plans and he will laugh, and indeed, the opposite happens and, devastated, she flies back home as a single woman She needs now to come to terms with this totally new situation, to lick her wounds and to find herself [...]

    • High octane, fast paced crime fiction is my bread and butter genre reading wise but, every so often, I crave something lighter That said, I do like my lighter reads to have some kind of substance and not be all airy fairy so I was delighted when I read You re The One I Want, also by this author which ticked all the boxes I needed for a lighter read This book continued on in the same vein and what I read here was a great story played out by convincing characters that left me satisfied at the end [...]

    • I have nearly worked my way through all of Giovanna Fletchers novels I still have to read Always With Love exciting and I ve got to be honest, I didn t think anything could beat her first novel, Billy and Me I loved Sophie and Billy s story, and I really believed that this was Giovanna s best work Until I read Some Kind of Wonderful.Lizzy is heartbroken She has spent 10 years of her life loving Ian, a man she believed to be The One She has also spent 10 years waiting for The Question Holidays an [...]
